Welcome to Sussex Professional Golfers Union

The SPGU was formed in 1912 to ensure club professionals and their assistants had a chance to play competitive golf in Sussex with supportive amateurs. With over 20 events a year involving 40 plus professionals and over 500 amateurs, Sussex Professional Golf Union provides an ideal environment for young professionals to develop the skills to become tour professionals

SPGU now operating as the PGA in Sussex

We are pleased to announce that the Sussex Professional Golfers’ Union (SPGU) is now officially operating as The PGA in Sussex. This transition marks an important milestone in the continued development of professional golf within the county and reflects our commitment to aligning more closely with the national structure and standards of The Professional Golfers’ Association.
Operating as The PGA in Sussex will allow us to strengthen our identity, enhance collaboration with PGA regions across the UK, and continue delivering high-quality competitions, support, and development opportunities for PGA Members, trainees, and partner clubs throughout Sussex. This evolution also reinforces our dedication to maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, and service across all of our activities.
We are currently finalising the programme for the upcoming season, and our 2026 fixtures will be published very soon. Full details will be available on our website, www.spgu.co.uk, as well as on BlueGolf, ensuring easy access for professionals and clubs planning their year.
We would like to thank all our Members, officials, clubs, partners, and supporters for their ongoing commitment to professional golf in Sussex. Your involvement and enthusiasm continue to drive the growth and success of our events and initiatives. We look forward to starting this new chapter as The PGA in Sussex and to delivering a strong and exciting 2026 season.
For further updates, please keep an eye on our website and communication channels.
